Twilight Cemetery Stroll in Historic Jefferson, Texas

Next Cemetery Tour – September 20, 2014 – An Autumn Stroll Through History

Diamond-Bessie-sliderHistoric spirits come to life, sharing their brave and raucous past, during our Twilight Cemetery Stroll in charming Jefferson, Texas! Join us on Saturday, September 20, 2014 amid elegant Victorian monuments and fading tombstones in 100-year-old Old Oakwood Cemetery for this unusual and thought-provoking cemetery tour. Surrounded by the deep piney woods, this east Texas event features a murdered lady of the night, her accused murderer, a shipwreck victim, a slave among Union soldiers’ tombstones, and more.

Characters speak near elegant Victorian grave markers and serene monuments during our one-hour guided walking tour. Tour groups meet at the main cemetery gate near 607 N. Alley Street from 5 pm to 7 pm (tours depart every 15 minutes).

Historic Cemetery Tour – We don’t scare, startle, or conjure ghosts. We focus on historic vignettes that reveal life stories of historically significant persons.

Suggested donation of $10 per person is greatly appreciated! All donations support the preservation and maintenance of Jefferson cemeteries.
